🖥 Display

Low — older phones (simplest effects, bare verges). Balanced — most phones: the full living world (grass, motes) without the priciest effects. Medium — newer phones (full effects, 60fps, stays cool). High — big GPUs: real-time shadows, longer draw distance and a denser, livelier world, still 60fps. (Extra density lands on the next launch.)

Auto follows the display (60 on 100Hz+ screens). A lower cap runs cooler and longer on battery — the game picks the nearest even divisor of your screen's refresh so pacing stays smooth.

Caps the frame rate (45 on Steam Deck, 30 elsewhere, unless you set one above), renders menus at 20fps, lowers the resolution ceiling, freezes the sun shadow map, skips the sun rays and ambient motes and pauses when the window loses focus. On by default on Steam Deck.

Full glow, sun rays & colour grade in 2-player split screen (3–4 players always run lean). Heavier: both halves run the whole effect stack — watch the FPS counter and see if your machine holds up.

Use if the game crashes — switches to more stable graphics (restarts).
